Post Office Closures - UKIP SW Campaign

Trevor Colman explains the threat to local Post Offices and how people can combat this. He explains how the EU has been responsible, through the imposition of Directive 97/67/EC 'Privatisation of Postal Services and EU Directive 2002/39/EC calling for a 'step-by-step approach to further market-opening'. Westminster has been forced to seek EU approval to subsidise Post Offices to keep them open, albeit temporarily. Approval has come at a heavy price. In a letter (C2007)5623final 28.11.07) to David Miliband, Neelie Kroes, EU Competition Commissioner, stipulated 'the transformation programme (subsidy) will involve reducing the Post Office network by around 2,500.' The subsidy is further restricted by EU 'state aid' rules and cannot continue indefinitely. It must end soon. What happens then? The consumer organisation www.postwatch.co.uk has said 10,000 Post Offices are due to close . . . Trevor Colman gives crucial advice in this clip to anyone who wishes to save their Post Office. Trevor forecast that there would be many more closures and that by 2011 state subsidies would end due to the EU directives. Here in East Devon one PO is closing on May 24th 2011 and almost certainly two more before the end of the year.

The Post Office are using a new tactic to force closures and that is to convert sub Post Offices into PO Local branches.The PO salary is reduced to less than 50% of a sub PO making it unviable to run .

Remember you were warned that this would happen by UKIP.

Deutsche Post are apparently interested in purchasing The Royal Mail, so lets not forget what happened to Rover with BMW, I rekon if the German baby poisioners (Autism Genocide - See Flickr), start getting involved in British Business again, it should be seen as a war action and treated as such.
