@bronxpr37 It's about saving money and retaining prospects. When you have financial constraints, there are areas of payroll that need to be cut. The Mets could have added the payroll of Gonzalez, but would have easily lost three of Harvey, Familia, Wheeler, Mejia and Flores.

@atcw593 I don't wanna go on this issue because you are far too young to understand the full extent of the situation. You cannot tell me the Wilpons only have $90 million to work with. That is BS and you know it! They went from $140 to $90 and DID NOTHING! They freed up $50 million and DID NOTHING! What is it about NOTHING you understand! When Oakland traded away Cahill, Gonzalez and Bailey, all made under $500 grand, where were the Muts! Stop being a shill to the Wilpons! I'm not buying it!
