I seldom do it. I haven't really examined it much to compare it against a regular jump/cape recovery.

All right. I have used the cape in almost identical situations and succeeded. Just takes some practice. I guess we just have different play styles.

Although I see what you are saying. I prefer to aim for him before he executes the phantasm. It's possible to intercept while he's in the actual phantasm.

Wait! The one at 0:38 was the one I already suggested saying it was the only true opportunity for me to do this.

I dont see one at 0:38 . At 0:43 I'm too far away to do it and at 0:48 and 0:51 he is WAY too far from the battle field for me to reach him.I would have to risk myself not only using both of my jumps to reach him then trying to miraculously recover, but i would also be risking getting spiked by his phantasm if I failed.

Actually there are a couple times you could have done it. You could have done it at 0:38, 0:43, 0:48, 0:51 (Possible but I saw what you tried to do.) etc... I think you get the idea. It would work even if you are not at the edge because falco's phantasm would continue its momentum after hitting the cape and therefore would continue off the stage. Anyway still a fun match.

There's also another one at 2:38 , but the chance was very slim due to him being quick, it's on wifi, and that I wouldn't want to play near the edge at the time given how the match was flowing. Also, he's no noob Falco. He's well aware what Mario could do to him. He positions himself very well when executing the Falco Phantasm. Thank you for you thoughts though.

Yes, but given the circumstances for each time he did the Falco Phantasm, I determined I would not be able to reach him in time to cape him, which is why I instead ran to the point where he would end up. The only true opportunity i would have to do this out of this whole match would be at 0:38 .
