The name of this video tutorial is Separating Objects. Thank you to Neal Hirsig (nhirsig@tufts.edu) on which this video is based. His video is at http://www.gryllus.net. Blender lets you separate subcomponents of an object, creating a new data block, creating a separate object. I show how to create a box lid out of a cube box.

  • @Allan828100 Go to the blender d o t org Web site. Click the Downloads link.  Then Download 2.5.2 Alpha.

  • Thank you! This was driving me nuts--trying to solidify one of a pair of duplicate objects, couldn't figure out how to get blender to treat them as separate objects.
