I got this idea of making a ping pong ball shooter from youtube. I myself a ping pong player and an nxt builder wanted to build something like it. And the result you see in the video.

  • Just wondering, about how far were you able to throw the ball? I'm thinking of making something similar in Vex and trying to think of the best method to lob/throw a ping pong ball.

  • @Linkbomber1 Not much than what I expected. Its less than 5ft. The wheels couldn't push the ball much far, may be you should try with elastic band

  • how much for the box

  • @ZeTall1 visit lego.com for its price. and how long is based on your imagination.

  • Dude,Are you doing it at WORK?! 0_0

  • @HeroExProductions heh :)

  • That's much different than the ping pong ball shooter I saw while I was in Tijuana.

  • Any building instructions available?

  • @anbup I've built something similar in Vex with a 5:1 ratio and it's able to shoot the ball a pretty good distance. After all is said and done, it's extremely inefficient and rattles the bot like a tornado. The screws fall out so quickly that we spend more time rebuilding than we do shooting.

  • Sounds werid but can i buy one off you how long do they take to make and how much

  • all you need now is a good Ping Pong Player.

  • fabulous ! my congrats! i am an inventor too (but not so great:)) i have a ping pong machine too (invented by me) with convencional materials/motors -not lego.
