This is ANOTHER NEW TECHNIQUE of sharpening a knife. This process, if done correctly, as shown in this video, should make your knife or blade capable of shaving power.

  • any ideas on polishing a knife just by using normal things like toothpaste,oil...

  • I've never thought of doing it like that. But I'm sure you'd do it the same way that you would if you had polish.

  • hey, i try sharp my nife, i got 2 o 3 diferent knifes, they are very sharp excep for one i can getit sharp,is a browning 645, every time a use the smooth side the shrp is going, i try the core saide to and it see sharper than the smooth side any advise, sorry my poor english, hope u understand...keep the good work

  • Thr browning 645 probably has a different blade angle.I'de try it at a differet angle. It could always be chipped too.

  • use water. it's better

  • @ChronicMist This is an oil stone. It's not made for water

  • if you plan on cutting food with your knife then you better rinse it off well after sharpening with WD40 as the lubricant

  • Great tip with the paper man! I've never seen anyone do that before. That'll be a great help with me, as often as I sharpen kitchen knives before cooking.

  • gotta have a sharp knife to shave hair, shaving a face is one thing but HAIR is impressive...

  • My dad has been sharpening like this all his life and then he showed me how to sharpen a knife on the stone but he does not use the paper just his finger.I don't use the paper ether.

  • love the cigar.

  • yeah, my razorblade actually shaves hair

  • he angle of the grind is dependant on the task at hand for that blade

  • wd 40 will eventually rust your blade, use marine grade 6-56 lubricant.

  • This kid is died 1 year ago :( .....RIP "HCDDWarhero"(Brian Wentworth)

  • what knife?

  • how much was the stone

  • Actualy now-a-days there is alot of steels that will hold a 30 degree total edge (15 on each side) s30v and d2 for instance are very hard steels and would hold a 30 degree total longer than some steels hold a 40. I used to put a 30 on my spyderco delica and it would get scary sharp and hold it fine until you cut something hard like cardboard then the edge would easily degrade and be lost. but all spydercos actualy come with an edge closer to 30 degres total (according to sal glesser)
