Broken PS2

I Have a ps2 thats about 5 years old. for about 3 monds ago, it suddenly started making a weird noice (this was when I played the game: Heaven: Call of the king)
10 minutes later it froze...
I tryed almost everything, but I simply can't get it to work.
I Recorded this tape as a last try to fix it, if someone knows what the problem is, or knows a solution: PLEASE POST IT.

The rack gear that rides on the worm gear which moves the pickup back and forth is jumping teeth.

The rack gear itself, which is either a white piece or a metal piece with a white rack gear attached at its end, could be worn out and may require replacement if cleaning and lubrication do not fix it.

Other service that your PS-2 will need is a cleaning of both the objective lens and fixed lens on the laser optical pickup as well as lubrication of the sled rails that the pickup slides on.

mine worked perfectly until i bought san andreas then over the course of about 3 weeks stopped reading disks

@rudebois61 when i had GTA SA on PS2 i only had it about a week it broke! froze when going out of safehouses

1 time i replaced it with the GTA VC disk while SA was running and surprisingly GTA SA played for a good 5 mins before the PS2 realised it was Vice City XD

Is that fan noise coming from the PS2? If it is that freaking LOUD! Worse than the Xbox360 and thats saying something.

My original PS2 had this grinding noise after a few years, I used to smack the top of it and it would usually fix the problem until the game had to load something in a different area of the disc. Of course by hitting it I also scratched the hell out of the games in the console.
