Well, in USA in state of Virgina, train can not block public road no more than 5 min. I don't know what other state law is.

@shrimp909 Well, I guess about 1000 meters, only a little bit more than a regular train... All these cars have brakes too, so when the driver reduces the air pressure in the brake pipe the brakes on the cars will be working too... The difficulty in braking heavy freights is not the distance to stop but lies more in the art of avoiding reactions in such a train! :-) Try avoiding to use the brakes in the first place, and if you really have to use them then try to avoid having to adjust the power..

@shrimp909 Great question, i were wondering too, says 1 box net weight 25 tons , cargo another 25 tons, 1 box is 50 tons, Gee, it will taking long time to stop such weight
