My Dad was a big fan of 'Der Bingle' as he would call him. And Dad was a great singer and whistler too. I never liked Bing's singing as a child. What a dolt I was. Sure appreciate him now. Can anyone recommend a song that demonstrates Bing's mastery of the bass registers?

I enjoyed the video. At my age I can still remember when these were popular.

I only recently learned of Bing, so this is all very new to me, but I am having a great time going through his songs, and have ordered some of them on 78 rpm records. Can't wait.

The lost art of whistling. No one whistles anymore. And Bing was one of (if not) the best.

Mario Lanza, Gordon MacRae, Nat King Cole, Frank, Bing and Howard Keel should all be in there. Unfortunately volume sales matter a lot in these things as well as longevity.

I had the happy fortune of inheriting a bunch of Bing Crosby movies from my grandma when I was about 10, and my sister and I just looooved him to death! I'm now 23, and sharing him with my hubby and son. I can't believe more people don't enjoy the oldie but goodies!

I had a Teacher who was related to him and Bob. I was always a little in awe of her and her tales of spending time with them when she was a child.

Thanks for posting this!
