Felling leaning Sycamore with a tirfor winch and a chainsaw

http://peplers.blogspot.com/2011/01/felling-leaning-sycamore-with-tirfor.html These Sycamore were leaning over a neighbour's yard, so we used a Tirfor winch and steel cable to pull them back into the wood, and also an additional rope to help control the direction of fall.

Please note that this is not an instructional video! You should get advice or training before felling trees and using chainsaws and winches.

@sitdox You're right, an awful lot of hassle and a complete pain in the neck! We had to get these trees down as they were leaning over the neighbour's yard, and the prevailing wind would eventually knock them over and damage his property, especially if they got any bigger... Now they're down, we can cut the regrowth every few years without any messing around with ropes.
