Why don't they ever campaign for animals to be slaughtered as quickly as possible? Instead of being complete fascists throwing paint and flour ruining a beautiful piece of fur, so the wearer has to buy *another* piece of fur killing *another* animal. Just so the idiot can sit smug in a prison cell, because his/her assault on another human being and their property was for "animal rights".

Because animals should not be slaughtered at all. Saying that they can be would send the wrong message.

I believe if you want a fur coat for a practical reason like wearing it in the winter for warmth, not vanity, that you should go out and trap/hunt it yourself. Then you must gut and skin it yourself. You might have to bring it somewhere to make it a coat if you don't have that skill, but then you can have a fur coat. I guarantee you that 99% of the people who wear fur coats wouldn't be wearing fur coats anymore...as they wouldn't be able to do it.

But why take an animal's life at all when there are so many cheap synthetic options available?

People have Always worn fur. The problem is when they go out and kill animals just for their fur and leave their bodys on the ground. But when an animal live in a good condition it is okay to take it's hide or fur when it dies. Otherwise it should be forbidden to eat meat as well.

    >cheap synthetic options

That's a major point i keep hearing. But that will cause even more waste and will in turn kill animals In the long run as well. Do you think nylon and polyester degrades quickly and cleanly?

If someone were to come to me and say shit when me or my mother were to be wearing my nans coat, which is about 80 years old at this point, you might as well not try. You realize its a scientific fact that plants feel everything you do to it, right?

no one really wears real fur in england you dont need to offer us fur-free choices because no one buys it, synthetic in the norm, apart from sheep that get sheared but that's not a bad thing

I'm vegan and I agree completely but this is how this would really go down (with some people):

"Is that a real fur coat?"

    "Yea.."

    "Did you know animals.."

*middle finger goes up as they walk away*

Well, PETA did euthanasia and that's better than other killing technique. Do you have any other solutions?
