i love how people want to do animation and then when they see the work that it takes to do it the chicken out... this is so time consuming but so rewarding to do something that you love. . . Thats why I went into the field. I do what I love and I love it. It takes time and effort but the great thing that you accomplish in the end is well worth it... now lets see if i say the same thing in 20 years :)

@Monkeygrinder If you want to do it frame by frame, you can do that in flash and then import it into After Effects. Then theres always drawing each frame by hand on paper frame-by-frame. Then you capture each of those drawings with a webam and the program that the webcame is hooked up to is called MonkeyJam. So look into flash and MonkeyJam :) good luck!

Can anyone tell me where to find a decent tutorial for the hand-drawn kind of animation used around 0:45? Trying to teach myself After Effects and I'm not all that bright. :)

Pencil animation done in painter, then mixed in AE. You can also use mirage

So you're drawing each frame as a separate file in painter? Sounds more time consuming than I expected. Is there a decent way to draw frame-by-frame right in AE?
