  • my grandfather was a medical doctor with LA County in the 30s, he used maggots and leechs, mainly because leeches sucked out the old blood and maggots ate out the rotting flesh...

  • Thanks for posting all five episodes of this truly fascinating series.

  • Wow its amazing how MIchael Mosley looks exactly like the climber Joe Simpson, who did the BBC show "Beckoning Silence", they are twins man

  • 1000 AD King Bhoja of India was afflicted by a tumor in his brain which caused him intense headaches. Two brothers from the school of Ujjain, who were pre-eminent surgeons of the era, performed a surgery on his brain and relieved him of his tumor. The description of the surgery that survives suggests that they artificially induced a coma with a special preparation known as the sammohini and then opened his skull to remove the tumor. He was then brought back to consciousness with another drug.

  • They make vesalius out to be a necrophiliac at the end of the video

  • I would suck on Michael Mosley, no hesitation :)
