Scream and Stoutmeister decide to take on a topic that is a little more serious than any of the other topics we have covered so far. As you'll see, we talk about this disgrace of a church that for some strange reason is still in existence. In this part, we cover the main basis on what the premise of this church is. You may see why there is a "Part 1" in the title. That's because in the second part, we are searching for their number and the rest is for you to watch.

As a native Kansas, I grew up with Fred Phelps. He started out as a joke in the 1980s, and whenever he went on the radio, we used to listen and get drunk and laugh at how he called everyone a sodomite. He used to come to campus telling us all we would die of AIDS. Then Matthew Shephard happened, and the funeral protests happened, and then the shit got real. A friend of mine made an indie film called Shades of Gray about being gay in Kansas, and they interviewed Phelps. He's a douche.

@ShayWilliamDawson1 Is there any way to check out the indie film? That's pretty funny how he's calling everyone a sodomite and it must've been fun getting drunk to him. I saw the part on Michael Moore's film about gays and his interview with Fred. He needs his coffin ready already.

I also think that gay people shoudl be able to marry and such, it doesnt matter what someone else does, and if I see 2 guys kissing I might no like it, But if I saw a guy and girl making out I would feel the same way.. No need to see someone breakfast.

@schoolterloch Idgaf if gays get married or not, like with every viewpoint, you don't have to shove it down our throats. I'd rather gays be married than abortion to exist personally, if you think abortion is ok, then good for you.

@schoolterloch Us both have changed our views on religion since this video. We both have an agnostic/deist viewpoint of god. I agree that WBC should be shut down, but not the children. I think the children can be saved. Religion has it's goods and bads that it teaches and I understand the Bible is inconsistent. Institutions of religion suck.

When we say "Don't fuck with the USA military", we're saying don't protest at the funerals of the individual soldiers that chose to serve.
