I dont see how this is advanced at all. You can only detect a file with MD5 Hash if the file is unchanged, however most viruses change.

So your probably detecting like... 3% of all viruses.

@RSxPhosphatic wow, what are you a retard or something, take a look, do you really expect to make an anti virus with advanced heuristic detection in visual basic, you clown, this was a tutorial to further peoples knowledge in visual basic, troll, its not meant to be a fully fledged anti virus, no shit md5 is outdated, and alot of viruses would get past it, but its way better then those file path scanners *shudder*, and if you think you can code better than me your dreaming....

this is too good for normal users man... this is only up to byte signatures... if this is the case... how does avast.avg. bitdefender etc. make their friggin av programs to have advanced heuristics sandbox behavioral detection blablabla....
