1947, right? The red rings on blue background combo have always been my favorite color scheme for the openings they used over the years. (My second fave is the green-on-green they used in 1949-50.)
This must be a rare variant with the designation that this cartoon ('Doggone Cats') was produced in Cinecolor. Some pre-1936 Merrie Melodies were also done in Cinecolor, but not as much as Technicolor.
No cartoon series will ever be as good as these cartoons.
