Beers and Beards With Matt (In Texas): Convict Hill Imperial Oatmeal Stout

It took me a while to post, but this is one of my beer reviews from the great state of Texas.....Houston to be exact.

Being in Texas you have to take advantage of the beer that only Texas has to offer. I picked this beer up not only because it is made in the great state of Texas but also because of the name. This is from Independence Brewing in Austin, TX and called Convict Hill Oatmeal Stout. This beer is just a hair over 8.5% ABV, so it can almost be considered an Imperial Oatmeal Stout.

I hope you guys enjoy, and hopefully I can post one more Texas review before I get back to Florida.

I think you need to try this again when you're in better health. and you should check out Jay's review of this. I sent him a good handful of Texas beers, this was the first.

and you should tell me which Texas beers you've had, if we're gonna do a trade. I don't wanna send you things you've had unless you're requesting them.

@StephenDickerman I know, I need to, I still have one more left in my fridge, so I need to give it a re-review now that I don't feel like crap.

To be honest with you, I didn't really have a lot of Texas Beer when I was in Texas oddly enough. I went to St. Arnold's, and outside of that I didn't have much beer from there. Anything you have that you like will be great. Shoot me an e-mail.

Hope you went to the Flying Saucer while you were in Houston, and I liked Convict Hill, wasnt the best, but I enjoyed it.

@bunkernate I definitely did....twice actually. It's a shame that South Florida can't get a beer bar as good as the Saucer down here. It was a pretty decent beer, most of the stuff that Texas is brewing is good stuff, solid beers all around.
