The Batman: Khalil LeSaldo
The Joker: Zachary Perez
Lights: Joshua Zalinger
Special Thanks: Davis Robinson, Deborah Puhl, Joan Sand and Julie McMurry

This was our final project for Acting II Physical Theater. The show is essentially a story of The Batman and The Joker told through the dialogue of Hamlet from Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', select scenes from Alan Moore's 'The Killing Joke' and various Batman media.

The media used was from Warner Brother's 'Batman: The Animated Series', Rocksteady Studios 'Batman: Arkham Asylum', Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight', and the Adam West 'Batman'. All media has been edited out of this video for the sake of brevity.

Apologies for the low quality in seeing the projected video, in addition one scene cannot be seen on the video at all and was removed. During this scene The Joker was in the audience speaking directly to the people (because he's The Joker and can break the fourth wall...) using the Hamlet verse 'Oh that this too too solid flesh...'.

Comment if you find this project interesting or well done!

  • An absurdly belated reply to bluefurr:

The video pauses at 8:04 because some of the footage had to be cut. There is an entire scene where The Joker is wandering through the audience in the dark. While creepy, this format made it impossible to film.

The concept of the scene is The Joker going on a rampage in Gotham. The text from Hamlet is 'O that this too solid flesh would melt...'.

  • Interrogation scene WHOA! That was super cool and intense.

O NO Batman showed his face!

Ok I loved that Joke! :)

O and at 8:04 the video just stops?

Overall I liked this a really good approach of Hamlet meets Batman Universe. Very Creative. I give props to all involved nicely done :)
