  • go home or pub

  • would of loved to go home, but this snow started after 2hrs work and lasted for about 1 hr, we were on the verge of aborting the mission but that would of given the boss 6 hrs work for nowt.

so we persevered and it paid off, the snow stopped not long after and we all had happy days....

  • snow and water is just the same, asphalt will never adhere on wet surface, like mixing oil with water

by doing so moisture will be trapped inside the membrane,

i think these guys are meeting some deadlines, hehehe

  • if you try laying torch-on in light snow you will notice that the snow droplets wont mix with the flow of bitumen they either evaporate under the intense heat, or are rolled out with the bead.

it cant get trapped between two layers of fusing membranes as its just to hot for snow droplets to exist in that environment.

  • oh ps, this is bitumen not asphalt.

asphalt is laid with a wooden float and pored out of a bucket of a barrow if your real good,

if we were using pour and roll then we would not have bothered as p n r doesn't use a naked flame so this would have caused problems with the snow droplets.

  • hi nis, this is a delta system, it consisted of a vapour barrier torched on, then Rigid polyurethane (PUR) insulation, glued on using Polyurethane Adhesive, then there was a perforated membraine laied on the insulation for the dispersal of gassing from the insulation, then a 4mm torch on underlay, then a delta super 4mm cap sheet.

the big guns dried up the snow and didn't impede the bitumen bead, and there was minimal bleadout due to the excessive heat.
