Dog Soldier: Shadows of the Past, a largely forgotten anime release from 1989, finally resolved the heated knife-versus-gun debate by pitting a Rambo clone against the international crime lord who was once his childhood friend.

Also included: the tragic, highly unrealistic sacrifice of Anime Rambo's OTHER childhood friend, and a little anecdote that explains how the whole mess is really the fault of White People.

All of this was penned by Sho Aikawa, the same screenwriter who brought us such retarded gems as Violence Jack and Angel Cop. He later scripted Fullmetal Alchemist, The Twelve Kingdoms, and Martian Successor Nadesico, but he'll always be Mr. Dog Soldier to me.

  • I take you've never seen a Rambo movie or Weird Al's UHF.

It doesn't matter how good a shot you are, if the other guy is wearing a bandanna and he's screaming... You're screwed.

  • @FlamingFury5 clearly you haven't seen Dragon Ball Z, the undisputed champion of stalling. It can take weeks to throw a single punch.

Saruwatari Tetsuya is mangaka behind Riki-Oh (though not by himself*), The Hard, Tough, among others besides this.

*he had a partnership like Buronson and Hara Tetsuo who did HnK
