He sings this song beautifully. I'd never heard of him before. I was reading an article about the great Walter Jackson who also died too soon and a piece on Mr Hamilton was also included above his. It went on to say how fantastic his voice was when he performed this song which happens to be one of my favorite since my class sang it at Graduation. I came here to find it! I'm glad I did!

@6615tom1 Determining ''the best voice ever'' is ignorant, since each legendary voice has it's own musical niche. If you would want to be ignorant enough to determine the best voice ever you should look for the music with the most depth which is classical music. The best voice ever would for instance be Caruso or Pavarotti. But this is still ignorant..

At Christmas time the family Huddled 'round the radio and when Al Benson played this song I thought it was the most beautifullest ballad I ever heard. But, I was only 9 at the time.

@ThePeeterd This is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Carousel”, and was originally recorded by Christine Johnson on the “Carousel Original Cast Album” in 1945. It has since been recorded by over a hundred artists, but this version by Roy Hamilton is still, in my opinion, the definitive rendition.
