  • your stripper is set wrong as its set on rg59 (9)

yes it looks like 6 when you turned the stripper upside down

  • @ratsacker1 You are correct!

  • you shouldnt be cutting the copper after you crimp the connection (at least thats what a PPC rep would say) and why the hell are you cutting the the metal braid off....that part of the ground

  • @xfactor627a I'm not familiar with PPC, so I don't know what they would say. I do know that some coaxial connectors are too short and you can damage them. And as for cutting off the braid, the braid is still in the cable and makes contact wth the connecor when you compress it. Leaving the excess can cause a bad compression.

  • destroi is a moron. Thanks for the vid!! I only have two crimp ends so I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing so I didn't mess up and have to go buy some!

  • Yeah, I blocked him from posting anymore. It's been a few years since I worked in the cable industry, so I was a little rusty on my terminology. I created the video to help a buddy out that I loaned my tools and equipment to, but he lives about 2 hours away and I wasn't going to be able to help him install.

  • Ha, you do this quick. It will take some time for me to make one right but not as long as when I was learning how to make a Cat5 cable. I can make a Cat5 cable less than 2 minutes now, probably less with this one.

  • excellent video! will be using this in my new place within a few weeks.

  • I am very grateful that you made this video. YouTube never ceases to amaze me. What a magnificent tool for living.

  • Toning device, cool. Never saw that before.

  • @ qhavoor100

dude what are you on about, cutting the braid is fine.

having the braid touch the conductor is bad.

    good video mate.

  • Very helpful. Thank you.

  • thanks for the help

  • Good
