Great Museums TV has embarked on yet another groundbreaking journey - this time to New Orleans, Louisiana:

From the Lower Ninth Ward to Congo Square, New Orleans has long been the hub of the ultimate music experience and a living museum of music. But beneath the pomp and circumstance of Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, lies an invaluable community of local musicians in the midst of a crisis following the devastation of Katrina. This extraordinary one-hour special reveals the enormous recovery effort, rooted in schools and churches, on behalf of the citys musical heritage. An inspiring story, told by the most deeply affected and active artists leading the way to their citys glorious revival. Featuring Ellis Marsalis, Trombone Shorty, the Mardi Gras Indians, Tipitina's, Snug Harbor, French Quarter Festival and more. Soundtrack composed by Irvin Mayfield.
