The Newton Dee 50th Anniversary film was shot between September 2009 and August 2010 and was first shown at the village's 50th anniversary celebrations in September 2010.
Fionn, who lives in Newton Dee, approached me to shoot and edit the film shortly after we graduated from our film degrees. Having worked together on projects at university this seemed an invaluable way to put what we had learned to the test. Little did I know that it would culminate in about 30 hours of footage and 3 solid months of editing.
This version is a condensed version of the full cut which ran for about 40 minutes.
Many thanks to the residents, families and co-workers of Newton Dee for accommodating us in the making of this film.

@biggerhouse You can't watch the full film on line, but you can purchase a copy of the DVD from Newton Dee' office.

After the horrors of last night's Panorama, this film is just beautiful in all aspects of the work from the filming to the subject. I almost feel ashamed to say as a native Scots man, I did not know this place existed.
Brilliant work all round, keep it up.
