This was edited from Super 8 film I shot of me and my friend J in Pittsburgh around 1985. The song is from one of the most underrated Homestead bands of that era Phantom Tollbooth.

  • Wow, this is really mellow for these guys. What album is this on. I still listen to "Power Toy" regularlly (and the 1st ep on occasion), but have not heard "One Way Conversation" in ages - none of that was this mellow so where did this tune come from?

  • This is from a 7" they put out in....85 or 86. It was also on the Homestead Records Wailing Ultimate compilation. You can still find that CD used on ebay and Amazon.

  • I actually was at the final performance of this song at the Homestead records showcase at CBs, July '87. The film clips are cool and go with the song. There was a lot of great bands during the death throws of vinyl independent records.

  • I have that Homestead Records cassette comp with this on it. Nifty it be...

  • Hey Dave, thanks for posting this. Im Jerry Smith's brother the bass player in PT. I will send this to him. He would be thrilled to see it. Those were great times!

  • Yes, Dave. Phantom Tollbooth were great. I saw them do this song at CBs back in '87.
