He is extremely talented, I have just recently been turned on to him and I try to spread the word all over. And who cares where it was really born because it obvious where the swamp blues are living now: Where ever the hell Ben is!!!

This sounds like a lot of Mississippi hill country blues. Sidewalk Bob Harrison sings a very similar tune and with a very similar sound -- learned from Junior Kimbrow, Fred McDowell & others.

Wow, wonderful stuff!! Also (though not tapered..) the harp player reminds me of the good Captn (Beefheart)

Born in Louisiana... raised in Florida. Still some damn good music! Ben is the best live act you will see anywhere!

i just have to make a correction to this, swamp blues was born in baton rouge Louisiana...not the everglades. previously, this style was known as Louisiana blues, then became known as the swamp blues due to its dark riffs, and laid back rhythms
