Sixty-third video. It's been a long time since I did a classical piece. This is the recitative and aria "Arm, Arm Ye Brave" from Judas Maccabaeus by G.F. Handel. It uses the Mario Paint Real Symphony soundset by cat333pokemon. I reuploaded this video because I tried to add lyrics; however, Youtube Annotations kept freezing my computer, so I abandoned that. If you want to see the lyrics, I recommend you listen to the actual song, or I may sing it later to this Mario Paint arrangement once I perfect it a bit more.
Unlike my last Handel piece, which I did because I did know the song really well, this one was done because I want to know the song really well. I'm going to be singing it in a vocal contest on the ides of March (haha). I also wanted to experiment with Mario Paint Real Symphony; I thought the soundset worked really well, and it was fun to use. The vocal part is always the flowers, which sound like a trumpet, in case you couldn't tell.
The first section has a tempo of 280; the second is double the first at 560. The majority of the rest of the song is an even 1000, with the very last segment returning to 560. It was actually the slower part (recitative) that was the hardest to do, since the very definition of a recitative is that the music is not followed literally, instead it is "as one would speak". I also spent a lot of time experimenting with the different instruments; this was fun to make. Considering this probably is not going to be among my most popular videos, I really hope you enjoy this great classical piece.
***In case anyone's wondering, I got second place in the vocal contest out of 23 talented high school singers.. The prize was $300.***

In case anyone's wondering, today I got second place in the vocal contest out of 23 high school singers (all but 4 of which were girls). The prize was $300.

Second place?! Awesome! What are you planning to do with the cash?

Save it I guess. I won't actually get the money until May because they make the winners sing at their banquet afterwards. :/
