Kyoto has implemented the UN REDD and Agenda 21 programmes of expropriating farmers and/or forcing them to not to grow crops. On the pretext that it produces CO2, see. This is happening throughout the entire world, and Mr. Spencer's afflictions are shared by tens of thousands of people like him. The Africans, particularly, have had to put up with this type of forced expropriation policy for decades now, under World Bank/IMF-enforced land-for-debt agreements, albeit under different pretexts than the CO2 nonsense.
The end result of this is, of course, already being made visible, as food prices increase by the day, and a slow but sure transfer of the world's food production is directed into the pockets of the big boys: the big 5 agro multinational corporations and the big investment banks that own these.
Can you imagine the degree of mortality, particularly in third world regions, when these artificial scarcity policies bring food prices to unprecedented heights -- which will, inevitably happen?
Add to this phenomenon the millions of hectars in land that are alienated into the hands of the state and, thereafter, into private business, through public/private exploration agreements (though this is not the case with Mr. Spencer's situation).
But here it is, supposedly do-gooder 'environmentalism' being used for profit and power consolidation by the hands who feed it -- big multinationals, investment banks, and their foundations and NGOs.
