Our brother, Abul-Hasan Maalik Ibn Aadam appeared as a guest of the show to explain polygyny in Islaam. He additionally spoke about womens rights in Islaam, especially in polygynous marriages, and he also took questions from Muslim and non-Muslim callers.

You said you could answer a question. I have one for you then... I converted to Islam last week and soon to marry my wife on the 22nd of this month. But deep in my heart I know I want one more. I almost converetd to LDS but chose not to to continue my journey in the military. I found a woman I want more than ever but I still want 2. How do I break it to her I want her and one more and how do I make it so it is fair in the house hold and how is the house hold ran?

There would also be a jealousy factor here too I hate to admit that but it would and I am only human.

I can see how polgamy may have been the only optional choice in some areas in history especially if there are more women then men in a small community. I know in some Native American cultures they would practice this as well. Interesting video. Peace--Jammie

While I am by far no religious scholar I knew that polygamy has existed in many religions, ESPECIALLY, in history. In the USA when polygamy comes up I think of Mormon's and Colorado City because they practice it there although it is illegal in the States.

If someone does practice this and it works for them and the rest of the family I honestly have no problem with it. However I could not practice this simply because I am not used to it and I like having one husband LOL.

it was only after the western conquest of muslim lands that the muslims got affected by them...
