This video was taken mostly on october 7, 2005 with my Mom, a couple of cousins and Aunts. This was our first trip into New Orleans post Katrina.

All of our family homes have been completley destroyed. The water line at mother's house was at least 15 ft high. We will rebuild!

It is very important for everyone from that area to arm themselves with as much information as possible and reclaim their property.

The powers that be seem to be more concerned with commercial assetts than people. Long after this has faded from the headlines and we as a nation move on to something else New Orleanians will be trying to rebuild and reclaim their lives.

I encourage you to give and ask for you to remember us in your prayers.

  • This is an amazingly moving and personal account. It's also a superbly made and edited video. What a great spirit, sharing a joke about who's going to answer the door.... This is a great piece of work.

  • This video needs to be shown to every U.S. Representative serving in Washington. Their are over 500 representatives & according to Women of The Storm website less than 50% have visited. With a paid all expense, Excuses are unacceptable! Where is the American spirit to help your fellow man in their time of need? 16 months after the storm & we still do not know what to do because of all the bureaucracy. LRA IS A JOKE. BLANCO HAS TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE.JUST CUT US ALL A CHECK FOR $150,000.

  • I was looking for Saints homecoming videos and stumbled upon this. Man, this is some deep shit, without all the glitz of the damned media. This video needs to be featured somewhere, because it shows that human nature is kind and social; willing to help your fellow man, even when you have nothing.

Excellent video. Five stars and a favorite.

  • My thoughts, prayers and anything else I can give that can help goes out to you and everyone who continues to suffer from Katrina. As I former NOLA resident it brakes my heart to see my favorite city in the world turned into death gumbo. It may take many years to get there, but I really think New Orleans and the Gulf South will rise again. Thank you for video. Hang in there baby! God bless.
