His Cantonese is very very good. Don't forget he was not speaking daily Cantonese, because that would be much easier. We repeatly use same kind of words every day and the vocabulary is very limited. Therefore many foreigners living in Hong Kong for certain years would be able to speak daily Cantonese fluently, but not many people can handle official news conference properly, not even native Cantonese speakers...
