The most famous Italian fairy tale in the world for its enthralling metaphor of the relationship between father and son.
The Collodian tradition, where a marionette becomes a child and learns to become a son, is combined with a modern, ironic, but profound, story of a father that learns to do the same. It's a journey from childhood to adolescence in order to learn, along with Pinocchio and Geppetto, what life is all about.

I watched this, it was even worse than Roberto Benigni's version. In this, Pinocchio is a real boy with only a wooden heart and only becomes a puppet when he's bad. And he only gains humanity once he has a proper heart. Carlo Collodi would be turning in his grave.
