  • One of the key elements of classical guitar is expressional tempo, not standardized. Those of you who find this "sloppy" or "unusual" may not be understanding this concept. You likely won't enjoy listening to Segovia, either.

  • @HiImCaysE May I say that the topic of discussion here is not just tempo (which is superbly expressive) but the whole performance of the great Checonne?

  • Every one palys Bach wrong aby your own way

  • @KHdeitad0 What language is this?

  • This is the first time I've heard Brouwer play . . I didn't know he could play as well as perform!

This is a fantastical interpretation of this song of the Gods.

    Encore!!!

  • I really like this version because it's played very lively. You can hear a lot of personallity in it.

  • Who cares how anyone plays anything, its not like anyone dissin this guy has any balls or willpower to even learn it nor EVER will. FYI video or its a lie.

  • @Hermeterec i also have my own interpretation :-) not brouwer, not john william, not segovia (but i play his transcript ;-) ) but i like Leo's.. is this really him? God, its hard to believe.. w/ all of his composition. he is something!!! :-D

  • Such an usual intepretation of this famous piece! Its like a new 20th century contemporily music written in the style of Bach! Bravo!!!!!!

  • from Jose' Sepulveda, the Hermeterec........My God!! Maestro Brouwer's version of the great Bach's mighty Chaconne certainly seems to spawned a lot of controversy.......generated several factions, some of which love his interpretation and some who hate it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of middle ground expressed here. I say a guitarist has a right to express himself via interpretation if he or she so desires......if you out there are not the reincarnation of J. S. Bach, shut up about this.

  • Great and rich personally flavored version! Purists will of course prefer something else. But after all the guitar is no violin.

  • I love this piece and hope that in the minds and hearts of the critics there is a little space for individual expression. I can appreciate this interpretation and "feel" the spirit of this great artist as it shines throughout the piece. Purism and

    comparisons apart. Loved it!

  • its different but lots of soul so who gives a fuck. im moved.,
