  • For one, every horse needs a good carriage on their neck, not just Saddlebreds.

You were doing lateral flexing on the hind legs, how about Horizontal lifts? i find it works better. And the camera angle is bad, so it's hard to see from my point of view, as to where you were palpating the lower lumbar, S.I. , and the pelvic area. But from what i could see, the horse showed no discomfort or signs of pain, yet you still adjusted the horse. Why?

  • @cholan1972 Yes every horse needs a good carriage on their neck - it was just a comment about this horse and not exclusivity to the breed. This horse does not have pain because it is regularly adjusted. Chiropractic adjustments are made to joints that have subluxations (they do not move effectively or efficiently), what you are seeing are joints that do not yet have symptoms of pain. Many of the performance horses in my practice are adjusted for maintenance, prevention and better performance.

  • @cholan1972 Actually, I was doing motion palpation and range of motion in the normal plane of movement. Lateral means to the side of the horse and so does horizontal so not sure what you mean by your description. I can guess that you are talking about lateral distraction or abduction of the limb and in some cases it is necessary to do that maneuver and many times I do check that it just wasn't on this horse. Every horse I check the poll area too, its not on this video - 10 minutes is all I had.

  • @cholan1972 Thank you for watching the video and for giving me the opportunity to explain your concerns. If you need more explanation or want to discuss further I might be able to explain more via email, since this allows only 500 characters to try and explain the intricacies of chiropractic. • Thank you for the explanation, most Vet's or Pro's don't bother answering. The horizontal lift is the abduction of the limb i was in referring to. As you can see, i removed my comment. And thank you for the timely response and explanation.

  • @cholan1972 So why do I suck? And why do you think I am not a vet? Anyone can just make a claim, but do you have reasons?

  • are you kidding me ?
