Horses should all have manners. The farrier has a physically demanding job and must rely on his clients to provide mannerly horses. This horse had an injury resulting in a bad experience which caused him to panic and not stand for the farrier. After 8 farriers refused to shoe him, the owner resolved to solve the problem with re-training and patience. You can see the process here.

  • @EpicBlueSpikes I know a few female farriers, they all seem to do just fine. Not all horses require allot of physical strength, just the ones that aren't properly trained.

  • @SteeveeDan im training to be a farrier myself, and although im told its a bloke's job by others, ive also been told im very strong for a woman, especially in this field of work.(no pun intended)

  • Patience is definitely the key. I've worked with allot of horses that no one would touch. It all boiled down to giving the horse time to understand that I was not there to hurt him and he could trust me. So far, I've always won. But sometimes, it really is a struggle!
