A rail cut shot, using running (natural) English, as an offensive option in an end-of-game situation with the 8-ball frozen on the end rail.

  • From what i see, the balls should be 1 finger width apart when theyre straight on the rail. is that the ideal distance ? make it easier to aim perhaps

  • @RaymondElMaid

That depends on how fat your finger is. It also depends on shot speed.

I'd say that for medium speed shots, 1/4"-3/8" is about right.

  • The high speed show this very well, I shoot this shot periodically... but usually will lay up with a half ball hit leaving my opponent to bank.. (depending on the score in the set and their skills of course.) Great stuff on here Dr. Dave!
