I think this is a good video, it serves it's purpose.
Sure for most of us this is very very basic stuff because we've been doing it from day one. But I can see how it would help out a windows user.
I see very good reason for this video to have been made. Only piece of constructive criticism i have is that you didn't mention anything about the new "put back" feature. I think some former users who've just switched to snow leopard and all new users would eventually like to know that information.

You can also use the "command+shift+delete" to empty the trash.

omg, thnks! Totally worked... much thanks, have like gigs and gigs of documents in there I no longer need. =)

It depends on how you deleted the file and where it came from. I haven't seen a definitive list of which methods and places work and which don't, however.

@TheBombdigitys Do you have the Develop menu enabled? If so, there is a setting there to disable all images.

I can't put real links in YouTube comment, but you can go to my site at garyrosenzweig-dot-com and read more. Or read the bio at the front of the book.

gary...
i'll be honest. I think this stuff is too basic.... your videos used to be more informative and more exciting.. this is like telling me how to tie my shoes... something we all know how to do.
i realize some people who are new to mac might not know some of these basics.. but hey we all learnt it without a tutorial.
so ye.. just thought i'd give my opinion
cheers

I'm constantly dealing with this -- everyone is at a different level. So I make some videos more basic, and some more advanced. I realize that not every video will appeal to everyone. By the rest of the comments here and at the site, i can tell that this did help out some people. I even titled this video "basics" so more advanced users could know to skip it. But I guess I can't please everyone.
