The trade for Jose Molina was part of the improvement of the Yankees. Their former backup catcher, Nieves, was a very poor hitter. Molina enables Posada to get more rest and is an able hitter and superb defensive backup.

the perfect backup for the yankee team, JOSE MOLINA.
He is like his brothers a great catcher, hitter, and a good teamamate. Posada knows he can trust Molina, they both come from the same country, Puerto Rico. Great adquisition by Mr Cashman..
