Here in Surrey BC Canada our manual collection crews can pull 1400ish homes/day, 15 ton 1st load, 13 ton 2nd load, and STILL be done by 1pm. These might save money (by cutting manual labour jobs) but bad for the city's unskilled labour pop and actually slower than traditional collection trucks....btw. I saw such a sell on this vid, I thought it was late night TV scams...LOL. "slam dunk" you too can outsource your city's labour jobs! Awesome. :)
Wow--I used to drive a 1974 Ford, witha LP 716 Garwood rearloader, withy container attachment--Other trucks I owned 1967 IH CO 190 with Heil Collecta matic --last truck I owned was a 1980 Mack MR 685, with Pak-Mor 25 Yard RL-- Worked in small communities mostly rural envirinment--had to mix residential, and commercial stops lot a fun in the day--eventually town closed dump--and BFI came in put us all out of business!
Beg to differ on the manual collection. My round (erewash council UK, manual wheely bins) collects from 1000 homes a day. Thats with a driver and 2 loaders on automatic terberg lifts.

BULL Crap, I used to pick up 1100 homes a day by myself hand throwing the trash in the older side loaders.
