3/1/10 JJ was being turned into the Harbor Shelter in San Pedro, CA (which is a high kill shetler) while I was rescuing a 12yr old pit. His owner was sobbing. The young man lives with his sister who was about to have a baby and she insisted that he give up the dog. JJ is/was never human aggressive or baby aggressive. He was just unwanted by someone who really didn't understand pitbulls. His owner said JJ is lovable, house-trained, and knows basic obedience. I was told he's a big teddy bear lovebug w/people, but he does not do well with other dogs..
As an pitbull and an owner surrender, JJ doesn't stand much of a chance. PLS checkout JJ and spread the word about this little compact chunky cutie. ID# A1021703 Call the San Pedro Shelter for more info and PLS save JJ!!

This is not my dog. I shot this video while I was rescuing another pitbull at the pound. I saw JJ being surrendered and immediately acted so that I could spread the word about him and hopefully save his life. I am trying to save him.

Too bad his owner didn't take him to a humane society where he would at least have had 1/2 a chance. County will euthanize an owner surrender, they are always first to go...especially in such a HIGH KILL shelter as Harbor. That's a shame. Poor dog doesn't have a chance. Do me a favor, think long and hard before you ever get another dog, if this is the only solution you can come up with. The dog will pay with its life for such irresponsible and foolish actions.

You're 100% right. JJ's face has been haunting me since I shot this. He did nothing to deserve this fate. He is just an amazing dog in the wrong hands.
