Around 1993, I was fooling around and stumbled on a new tonality: I found I could get a sound like a Didgeridoo by singing into the harp in a certain way. That led to this piece, which I quite often play at the start of a set. The screaming at the end is very good for exorcising any stage nerves!
Performed at the Chimney stage in the beautiful surroundings of WOMAD NZ in March 09. (The helicopter overhead at the start of the tune kind of adds to the Didgeridoo effect...) Thanks to Laura for the video x
You can hear a cool version of this tune with the brilliant Lucy Randall on Cajon on my CD "Lament for the 21st Century". Details on my website:

Awesome! Sounds like a combination of Didj and Bag Pipes! I play some didj myself, in addition to harp, and I've tried to use some Didj techniques while playing harp, to less success than this. I think one has to create a different resonant space when playing harp (as compared to Didj), so it's a little difficult to directly translate the Didj techniques directly to harp. Your performance here inspires me to keep at it! Thanks for that.
