This video is the first of a short series I plan to do to document my attempt to induce flowering and fruiting in my first medical marijuana grow. I used "undocumented" bag seeds of unknown origin and age so I didn't have the expense of buying seeds of established strains in case I experienced failure in my novice enterprise. I planted the seeds in the first week of October and kept them at 18/6 until the week of Christmas, when I constructed the coldframe from old TV cabinet parts. I have clones of some of the plants so I can continue the strain in case I happened to get something very good out of the first grow cycle. I basically have been building and adapting ideas from others on YouTube to develop my growing and propagating setup without spending a fortune on materials to put it all together. I veg'ed inside with flourescents(160W, 6500K) and a thrown-together heater, surrounded by styrofoam panels faced with mylar from the Hydro shop, watered by hand, in soil and vermiculite, fed regularly with mild mixtures of hydroponic nutes and fish emulsion. When I put them into the coldframe, I started feeding them rose food for the high P and K. I plan to flush them with plain water a couple of weeks before I harvest. Then I have to learn about drying and curing!

  • Very Interesting, but aren't you paying about the same for the electricity on the heaters as you would for some grow lights?

  • nice=)

  • Very nice innovation! Who would think that television parts can be made as a hydroponics grow box? I find the idea very brilliant! The strains are all looking good and I can definitely say that they are growing to their fullest potential. Congratulations! Natural lighting is still the best for growing plants. Please keep us posted. Thanks! :)
