Although I only heard him sing it once, I believe that this song was my father's 'party-piece'. He would take great delight in being 'coerced' into singing it unaccompanied in a public house or at a party in his gentle tenor voice, so I am told by friends and acquaintances of his. It is a particularly lovely song musically if somewhat sad in content, and it gives me great pleasure to dedicate this song to my late father. Dad I hope you are singing along with me in Heaven.
The song itself was written by William P Mulchinock.
Sitting myself at this particular distance from the camera has caused it to track my right hand more than anything else for some reason. Perhaps it may help you to follow my picking style.

  • Teehee.. Even the cat's singing at the beginning ;)

  • Not quite sure what you think you heard here Dave, but the only cat I have now is the one over the back of my chair made from a 'latch-hook' kit. There might be the call of a seagull just at the start. Perhaps that's what you heard? :-))
