Me: OK, very last platform jump. This is like the 100th try, but I'll finally make it this time!

    *jump*

    *background music stops*

    Me: OH GAWD NO

    *glass breaks*

    (after battle)

*falls all the way to the bottom*

    Me: FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--

What about climbing Babel Tower on foot, eh ? You know, done right, it might have been more impressive than in Gears (we would just need a reason for not being able to use our Gears in or near the tower). I know how a lot of people would probably prefer no platforming/Babel Tower... but damn, I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place (partly thanks to this music) and the fact that we can jump in this game.

Was awesome because of the music in this video that we are commenting on. I don't know why everybody makes such a big deal about it. Yeah, it was annoying, but once you got to the top it was kind of cool. It wasn't any more frustrating to me than other random battles games. I think you just have to go into them with the right mind set. If you have things to do that day or any kind of time limit, at least for me, my patience for random battles is non existent.

That after word talks about the motivations of Miang and the Gazel Ministry to resurrect Deus. It seems that they do it to avoid some kinda "Day of Destruction", which was inevitable if Deus wasn't resurrected in 10000 years

Read the After Word of Perfect Works. There is more to Deus than the eye meets ;)

(Spoiler) Wasn't Deus a weapons system that came into contact with the Wave Existence, crashed on the Planet, created life, etc etc (honestly, I played this game 3 or 4 times, loved it but am always foggy recollecting the plot) I think Xenogears explained all that needed to be explained. My experience was complete, I didn't need Xenosaga, which had an unmemorable story for me. Like I said, I just pretend those games don't exist, they're the only Monolithsoft games to this day that I can't stand.

Obviusly, copyright. Try making sense of Deus without Xenosaga ;)

Xenosaga and Xenogears aren't connected. At least not officially. I wouldn't want those stories to be set prior to Xenogears, which was just amazing. Xenosaga just didn't have an interesting world. It was a series of ship corridors. Now if it had taken place in a game world where you can explore at free will, like Xenogears, maybe I could have accepted it, but for me it was a tedious and hard movie to watch. Yeah, a movie with a difficulty level.

That was my problem, the Xenosaga games weren't fun til the 3rd one. The first one was so tedious. Endless grinding, overly complicated battle system. One battle theme. Even though Yasunori Mitsuda did the score, it only felt like a 3rd of the game or less had music.

Xenosaga suffered because they had to cram 6 games into 3. If they could have kept support for all 6 I think the series could have been a lot better. Sadly, they did not. The game suffered because of it. They had to pick and choose what to keep in which made is why it is so awkward and bounced around from game to game.

I still don't understand what the hell happened in Xenosaga, but it was still alright. The third one was really fun even if the "story" was incomprehensible.

Xenosaga has a lot of mystery still waiting to be uncovered. Xenogears storyline is also impossible to completely understand without Xenosaga.
