@gramophoneshane Hmm, thought one of your posts said you always used a 65 Magnavox. Must have been someone else. Love those old acoustic players, though. What kind of needles do you use? I am a little worried about the heavy pickup weight damaging my disks. Someone suggested bamboo toothpicks....

Oh yes, Marijuana man was listening to this song.

Just wonderful

My late brother and I used to play this and bang on my mother's pots and pans with ladels and spoons! What a hoot! Thanks for the great memories!

This was on the flip side of "Cocktails For Two." Milton Berle was one of the co-writers.

Can't beat those old 78's, especially at Goodwill prices! I mostly collect the Oklahoma Swing sound from way before I was born, but I still love novelty disks like this.
Also, this sounds great, on the internet, but you might consider upgrading the old '65 Magnavox for your own listening pleasure. I still have Grandma's '51 RCA player (vacuum tubes and all), but my modern reproduction Crosley Stack-O-Matic sounds SO much better. Old speakers loose fidelity when they loose elasticity....

@jstaydav 65 Magnavox?? The closest thing I own to that is tube 1964 Ekco from UK. Most of my electric machines date from the 30s-50s, though I've got some modern turntables & amps etc. The machine in this video is a 1927 HMV 202 Re-entrant, & is totally acoustic. It's like the bigger improved version of USA's Victor Credenza.
