forgot about this clip. was sitting one cool november morning in orangeburg county SC in my climber, heard some dogs getting close. turned camera on and drew my bow back as a doe ran by me at full speed. i released my draw and the string jumped off my bow. had to go back to the bow shop and get it reinstalled. it's been fine ever since.

  • I put a head shot on a dog chasing a buck few years ago. I Carry a blunt tip now. What bow do you shoot?

  • @BIGestBUCK don't think i could kill a dog, maybe put him in the truck and relocate him. my bow is a fred bear GT32, probably 8 years old or so. i didn't start using it until last year, we can use any weapon we want on private land here. season opens monday!

  • Damn thats loks like somthing that would happen at our club!! I bet that got you goin alittle!! Lol

  • @TheSimpleMan81 hey adam! congrats on the newborn! yeah, these stray dogs got a little old, they moved on not long after this thankfully.

  • Amazing how quickly things can happen on stand. Hope your string stays put. I've seen that happen when a limb or dirt chunk gets lodged in the cam too....easy to do when hiking in and climbing up so now I always check when I get settled in for a sit. Dang dogs!

  • @AntiHuntersLoveMe thanks cory. guess my response earlier didn't stick. yeah, the string hasn't come off since then, musta torqued it somehow.

  • @fracwilt i was 100% sure it wasn't it was just a bit weird

  • @hunterknapp16 thanks for the comment. as mad as i may get at a dog for ruining a hunt, i could never harm the dog. the dog is just doing what comes natural to it(or trained to do). i have dog hunted before with friends but don't participate in it very often. there are a lot of people here that want to ban it. i don't like that "ban" word, if you can ban dog hunting, what's to stop law makers from banning of all hunting. and the string is still holding up fine since.

  • Everyones opinion is different. But that is just my perspective on it. Now if one wants to make an everyday habit of chasing deer out of the country, then I might have a different outlook on it.

Thanks for sharing!! My cousin had the same thing, different scenerio happen to him last year with his string.

  • Damn dogs. Coming from a coon hunter, I understand why you don't just shoot dogs. Not every one of them is perfect. We have lost our dogs over night to running junk. Not in a while, but it does happen to the best of them occasionally. So it is best to not just blast a dog running game. Who knows, some day it could be your (not you specifically, but everyone that reads this in general) dog. Our state law says that a dog must have a deer down to kill it. And you must report it within 24hrs. cont..

  • @MrGETitGOTit thanks josh. yeah i can't complain about dogs, lol they usually run deer by me. these dogs did get annoying cause they hung around our property for a while, shoulda relocated them.
