Filmed 14/6/08. 47787 departs Warrington Bank Quay running the Lancaster-Holyhead via Crewe service. This service was originally meant to travel via Bolton, Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport to Crewe, but instead it went Bolton, Manchester Victoria and Warrington Bank Quay due to pathing issues! Despite it running 20 minutes late, it departed with a fair bit of clag.

  • Yeah I knew it was one or the other, cheers!

  • It was 6233; The North Wales Coast Railway Site's Noticeboard has a picture report on it.

  • Yeah you probably did mate, it ran Lancaster-Crewe using 47s (and the return respectively) plus both ways using 6201/6233 to and from Holyhead. (Cant remember which steam)

  • Oh my goodness! While on the returning Edinburgh Merseyman near Preston, I think I passed this tour as it went back up North. Thanks for recording this Woolybak8!
