  • this guys voice is awesome!

  • I love Philip Sayce's style. It's also about being able to put your mojo in your play, this is why a lot of younger players can be so fierce and wild like this (like his solo there). Also, not having to play the same old tired song over and over and over and over again as with the Juggernaut of Bon Jovi (as Richie *has* to do all the time) enables you to have edge on the songs...

  • never mind john mayer! this guy is the best young blues guy about at the minute and think he is gonna be big soon.and i read an interview with him and apparently melissa would encourage him to solo as long as he wants and she would just step back

  • ha ha I always love uncomprimising guitar players who are always like "fuck you" to the lead singer and just wail.

  • @pez570 He is a very talented man. One of the best Strat mangler's out there and one of the few who could hold a torch to the likes of Hendrix and SRV. What some people don't seem to understand is that Richie Sambora is a very different kind of player to that making any comparisons difficult to say the least. Melissa Etheridge and Philip Sayce 'interpreted' a couple of Bon Jovi songs in a way that they felt comfortable with. Some people don't like it, which is fine.

  • @Rocco11510 Phil's style is so much more dirty and impressive than Richie's style, i think. But both are pretty good.

  • i think some people on here need to listen to philips own stuff ,then judge him ,when you have watched him perform over my head ,you will see what a great singer and guitarist he is in his own right

  • Love ur stuff Phillip ... You and Ian Moore along with Bramhall 2.0 have been inspiring my musical endeavors .. Thx for 4being strong enough to bare your heart & soul

  • @theguitarguymike You mean 1/2 Richie's age?

  • @MAcAMP86 He said, "I want to give a special nod to Philip, who...I immediately opened the program and said 'who the F&^k is that guitar player? Pretty great, pretty fabulous, Phil.'"

I don't know how Melissa Etheridge does it, but she always has the most amazing musicians in her band. The first time I saw her in concert, John Shanks was her lead guitarist. Mark Brown on bass totally rocks. And this Sayce....well...just wow.
