Jim Prentice Office Occupation (CBC TV)

November 23, 2009 - Calgary, AB - A group of concerned citizens peacefully occupies the offices of Canadian Environment Minister Jim Prentice - for more than 7 hours!

Their demand? Canada adopt a world class emissions reduction target comparable to those of the world's leading nations (EU, Russia, Japan). Such a target should be 25% below 1990 levels by the year 2020.

I was there earlier in the day to check out what was happening. It was very peaceful yet direct to send a message to the Canadian goverment. I love my country of Canada, but we need actions like this to put a fire under our goverment leaders, who to date have been terrible about enabling real targets and reductions on emmissions.

Climate Justice is a basic human right. We deserve better...our planet deserves better. Time for real change in Copenhagen!
