The Maschinengewehr 42, also known as the MG-42 or MG42 is a belt fed German machine gun from WWII. It fires the 8mm cartridge.

  • @clogspecialist thats not really becouse of that, the mg42 wasnt really heavy, it was only 11kg , the vicker was 15 kg, the Vickers K was 13kg

  • The gun is shooting .308. It is in MG3 configuration which is why the rate of fire is so slow. You can tell by the fact that it is loaded on disentegrating links. The 8mm gun used non disentegrating belts in 50 round sections. Great video
